CARL (Canadian Association of Research Libraries)
CARL is an association of 29 Canadian university research libraries (and two federal institutions). Their primary goal is to support Canada's research community by advocating for, and working to, improve access to knowledge and sustainable scholarly communication.
BCcampus supports teaching, learning and educational technology in the British Columbia post-secondary system. One of their primary focuses is OER; their biggest initiative being the Open Textbook Project.
SPARC (Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition)
SPARC is one of the leading organizations spearheading open access initiatives on a global level. Membership comprises libraries promoting open scholarship and publishing.
R2RC is the student branch for SPARC. The R2RC supports access to scholarly research as a student right through initiatives and awareness campaigns. Student organizations can join the coalition.
The Open Data Institute supports open data in public policy, civic education, and political engagement.
Open North promotes open government data.
